Job description: The Channel Development Manager plays a pivotal role in optimizing product categories for specific channels and regions, aligning strategies with the Category Development Manager’s initiatives. This role involves planning, shopper communication, promotion recommendations, and driving category growth in partnership with key customers. Leads channel-tailored and customer initiatives which engage customers in our brands and drive conversion along the purchase journey. Heads channel cascades to the Sales Team to establish clear priorities and to ensure an organized approach. Working Setup: Onsite Working Schedule: Mon-Thurs 8am to 6pm ; Fri 8am to 5pm Role Type: New Key Responsibilities Channel-Specific Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Category Development Manager to customize category strategies for specific channels and regions, enhancing product performance and market share. Assortment Planning and Activation: Lead the team in optimizing product assortments per channel and region, considering internal and external factors. Ensure effective product assortment, pricing, and inventory management. Shopper Communications/Promotions: Recommend in-store solutions based on a deep understanding of shopper behavior within priority channels. Provide clear promotional guidelines derived from shopper insights and current market trends. New Product Development: Partner with the Category Development Manager to facilitate the successful launch of new products within designated categories, overseeing the entire process from concept to market introduction. Competitor Analysis: Continuously monitor competitor activities and market trends within specific channels, identifying opportunities and potential threats. Merchandising: Collaborate with the Category Development Manager to develop compelling merchandising strategies tailored to specific channels, enhancing product visibility and customer engagement. Customer Engagement: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key customers to drive category growth and align strategies with their unique needs. Data Analysis: Analyze sales data, consumer insights, and market research to provide data-driven insights, supporting informed decisions and recommendations. Performance Metrics: Work alongside the Category Development Manager to establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for category development initiatives within specific channels. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or any related field 8 or more years of experience in Trade Sales in a progressive FMCG company, People Manager role/team lead is a plus. With proven experience in category management, product development, or a related role. Strong analytical and data interpretation skills. Excellent communication and presentation abilities. Proficiency in data analysis tools and software. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment. Benefits Government Mandated HMO Service vehicle
