Do you think renewable electricity is essential in driving the decarbonization of society?Then this might be for you:We are looking for an experienced and ambitiousDirector Strategy and Market Intelligencefor our Business Area Wind.Vattenfall’s Business Area Wind is responsible for the development, construction and operation of Vattenfall’s onshore and offshore wind farms as well as large-scale solar PV and batteries. Leveraging Vattenfall’s setup as an integrated utility, Business Area (BA) Wind proactively connects – in cooperation with other Business Areas – the supply of green electricity with customers and partners, and through that supports and accelerates their own decarbonisation journey.The Strategy and Market Intelligence department within Partnerships & Business Transformation is responsible for shaping the overall strategic direction of Business Area Wind, proactively advising on relevant strategic topics to support decision makers – such as the BA Wind management team – in steering towards the BA Wind purpose. Amongst other things, we identify business and market trends and derive strategic consequences and required actions for BA Wind to advance our business models and market positioning.Your main responsibilities as a Director Strategy and Market Intelligence:
- Create and communicate a long-term vision and direction for BA Wind, in cooperation with Head of BA Wind, BA Wind Management Team and Vice President Partnerships and Business Transformation
- Lead and develop the high-performance and implementation-focussed, results-oriented international BA Wind Strategy and Market Intelligence team (6+ direct reports)
- Lead strategic planning and develop strategic plans that align with overall business objectives
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to drive performance, growth and strategic understanding
- Collaborate with strategy functions in BA Wind business units and Vattenfall Group
- Analyse competitor strategies and determine how to gain a competitive advantage
- Stay on top of technology trends, understand impact on BA Wind’s markets
- The role reports to the Vice President Partnerships and Business Transformation who reports to the Head of BA Wind
QualificationsYour Profile as a Director Strategy and Market Intelligence:
- University degree in Business Administration, Science, Economics or similar
- Extensive relevant working experience in a leading role in strategy and/or business intelligence
- Demonstrated strong business acumen plus leadership skills and ability to define and implement strategies in a complex global business environment
- Strong strategic and analytical thinker with great stakeholder management and networking skills
- Cooperative, entrepreneurial leader, with strong team building and interpersonal skills
- International mindset with valuable experience in working as a manager at executive level and in an international environment.
- Self-driven and pragmatic personality, performance oriented, focussed on implementation, with the ability to prioritize
- Eloquent in English, written and spoken, persuasive communicator with the ability to bring together diverse views and interests
