The DarkStore Commercial Manager is responsible for all the commercial-related topics in our MFCs – our very own supermarkets. From assortment definition and supplier management to pricing, promotions and UX-related topics, you will play a key role in driving business growth and profitability.THE JOURNEY
- Have full ownership of the Category Management masterplan and KRs, including Category Add-to-Cart, Average Order Value, and Gross Margin.
- Lead, coach, and develop 8-10 talented team members.
- Define the assortment strategy, and support the team in finding the suppliers to get the listings done and launching them with seamless UX.
- Give visibility using analytical reports to the main stakeholders of the project status and follow up on the next steps
- Support the category buyers on key suppliers’ contract renegotiations to establish a strong working partnership grounded on sustainable economics for both parties.
- Review contract terms and conditions ensuring that they are as favorable to the business interests as possible, minimize risk, and are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures (with support from the Commercial Manager and legal department)
- Define, together with the HQ team, the pricing and promotions strategy, and ensure its implementation.
- You will work hand in hand with the Ads team in defining and implementing marketing campaigns inside the store.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE
- +7-8 years of experience in fast-paced environments, ideally in Retail.
- Strong negotiation skills; expert understanding of terms, conditions, and contracting techniques for managing risk.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders across different departments
- Be driven to build a business from scratch, have a natural bias for action, always pushing for things to happen, objective and deadline-oriented
- Ability to hire, manage, and retain a top-talent team
- Previous experience in leading teams.
- Data-driven mentality: takes decisions based on data and makes business judgments when necessary
- Fluent in French, Arabic & English. Additional language skills are a plus
